——Shuntian Chemical Melamine New Technology and New Product Seminar Held in Beijing

On September 28, 2020, a seminar between Shuntian Chemical and the Institute of Process Engineering of the Chinese Academy of Sciences was held at the Process Building of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in Beijing. Academician Zhang Suojiang, researcher Zhang Xiangping, researcher Nie Yi, researcher Dong Haifeng, associate researcher Zeng Shaojuan, associate researcher Dong Li, engineer Zhang Junping, and Chairman Yue Qingqu and General Manager Chen Defu of Shuntian Chemical attended the meeting.
The Process Institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences reported on the progress of the ammonia carbon separation project for the tail gas of the ionic liquid method triamine, and determined the critical work of engineering design, procurement of industrial production equipment, and construction and installation. The plan is to carry out purging, pressure testing, and commissioning in April next year, and fully put into normal operation in May.
The two cooperating parties will discuss the research and development project of melamine downstream product - high-end fiber and film made from melamine. They plan to further optimize the preparation process of melamine flame retardant film and high-end fiber by the year, improve material mechanics, flame retardancy, and processability, and construct an installation demonstration line and complete debugging. This experiment uses melamine as the main raw material, utilizing its flame retardancy, high temperature resistance, insulation, and environmental protection characteristics. The internationally advanced ionic liquid method green synthesis process is used to prepare triamine flame retardant films and high-end fibers, enabling them to achieve self extinguishing and degradable functions. They can be widely used in fields such as work clothes, labor protection clothes, combat clothes, and firefighting clothes, and can also be made into degradable film to suppress the problem of white soil pollution, This research and development is of great significance for improving national environmental governance and the safety of people's lives and property.
Based on the current situation of Shuntian Chemical Industry, in order to fully recover and utilize the CO2 separated from melamine tail gas, achieve full utilization of ammonia and carbon resources in the enterprise, form a new circular economy industry chain, and increase the added value of melamine products, both parties have discussed the development of new process technologies, market prospects, and feasibility for the CO2 synthesis of dimethyl carbonate and degradable plastic cyclohexene carbonate (PCHC) project, and immediately started small-scale research.
Given the good cooperative relationship and project needs of both parties, both parties plan to establish a joint laboratory of 5000 square meters in Shuntian Chemical and build a "Chinese Academy of Sciences Shuntian Chemical Green Chemical Technology Demonstration Plant and Science and Education Practice Base". On the one hand, they will strengthen the cooperation between industry, academia and research, develop new downstream products and technologies of melamine, and provide a pilot/side line base for new technologies. On the other hand, they will serve as a joint teaching and internship base for both parties, Jointly cultivate technical backbone undergraduate/graduate students to serve enterprise development and scientific research and teaching. At the same time, the two sides jointly applied for Shandong Provincial Key Laboratory, Talent Plan, etc., planned to apply for State Key Laboratory, provided a better platform foundation for new technology development and transformation, and promoted the development of scientific research cooperation between the two sides in a deeper and closer direction.
Through various cooperation and exchanges, both parties firmly believe that with the strong scientific research strength and innovative spirit of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, as well as the solid industrial foundation and practical experience of Shuntian Chemical, the path of scientific research cooperation and development between the two sides will become wider and more practical.
